Dr. Metz was raised in a small town in central Pennsylvania. He received his undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Cornell University, and he received both a Masters Degree in Genetics, and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Virginia Tech. Over the course of ten years, he gained experience in small animal medicine and emergency medicine in small animal hospitals in Florida and North Carolina before opening Companion Animal Hospital in 2001. His areas of interest include internal medicine and surgery.
In his spare time, Dr. Metz enjoys biking, reading, and scuba diving.
